Feature Request - Web-Based Management Interface for MediaMTX

Describe the feature

It would be highly beneficial for MediaMTX to provide a native WebUI for configuration and administration.

While the current YAML configuration file is relatively straightforward to edit, it requires direct access to the server and offers no built-in validation of configuration parameters. As MediaMTX deployments grow in size and complexity, this can increase the risk of configuration errors and operational downtime.

A WebUI could provide several key benefits:

Remote Administration Allow administrators to securely manage and modify configurations without needing to log directly onto the host server via SSH, RDP, or console access.

Configuration Validation Validate settings before they are applied, reducing the possibility of syntax errors, invalid values, typographical mistakes, and unsupported configuration combinations.

Improved User Experience Present configuration options through forms, dropdown lists, tooltips, and contextual help, making administration simpler for both experienced and occasional operators.

Faster Troubleshooting Provide visibility into active streams, publishers, readers, connections, bandwidth utilisation, logs, and service health from a single interface.

Role-Based Access Control Enable organisations to delegate MediaMTX administration without granting full server access, improving security and operational governance.

Safer Change Management Features such as configuration previews, change history, backups, and rollback capabilities would help reduce operational risk when making updates.

Broader Adoption A modern WebUI would make MediaMTX more approachable for users who are less comfortable managing services through configuration files and command-line interfaces.

The existing configuration-file approach should remain available for advanced users and automation workflows; however, an optional WebUI would significantly enhance manageability, reduce configuration errors, and simplify day-to-day operations, particularly in enterprise and multi-site deployments.
