Steps to reproduce
- Chat with someone in app (bluetooth)
- Switch app to some other app, or going on home page of phone (putting app in background in recent apps)
- Notifications not coming/working, they only work if person goes back to home page of app (list of chats instead of being inside chat) before reproducing step 2.
2nd issue:
- Chat with someone in app (bluetooth)
- First person turns off bluetooth
- Second person sends something
- That second person stays inside app, or put app in background/recent apps
- First person turns bluetooth back on
- First person is not getting messages at all till two people keep sending/spamming messages to each other numerous times till they get connected again in chat
Expected behavior
Notifications should always work no matter if person put app in background while was inside chat or on list of chats (homepage of app). Person should get message when toggle bluetooth while 2nd person keep bluetooth active. Berty should also work when person removes it from recent apps, so app should require permission to always run in background. If we want Berty to stop working in background, there should be ending pop-up message inside app "are you sure you want to quit app?" on "backward" gesture from homepage of app. That background work should also fix 2nd reproducible issue I wrote, if not, then that 2nd reproducible issue is 3rd issue which has to do with improving bluetooth connecting? You can use Briar and their open-source code as example or as help.
Other
Thank you so much for releasing app on Android, hope you fix these issues, so we can have universal multi-platform app (as Briar is just for Android)
