spiral layout inconsistency

i have this for spiral layout

bspc config automatic_scheme spiral

i am facing this issue, suppose if i have 2 or more windows open in vertical splits, then if i open an image viewer like sxiv in fullscreen and close the sxiv window, the remaining windows layout distorts like the new layout will be horizontal split.
