Why it fits this list: KanjiWidget is completely free and open source under Apache-2.0. It works offline, requires no account, and contains no ads, subscriptions, analytics, telemetry, or background network activity. It includes built-in JLPT N5/N4 decks, editable custom cards and decks, and text-only import from Anki .apkg files.

I maintain this project and am suggesting my own app transparently. I believe it fits the list's goal of useful, genuinely free desktop software.
