Black Screen when app is launched

Describe the Bug
After installing the latest release on Windows, I launch the app and see a black screen that covers the entire display.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

1. Install the app.
2. Open the app; a black screen appears, covering the desktop.

Alternatively, you can reproduce the issue by:

1. Clicking the app icon on the taskbar.
2. Selecting "Toggle Service."
