Accessing element.ref was removed in React 19

Bug description

Accessing element.ref was removed in React 19. ref is now a regular prop. It will be removed from the JSX Element type in a future release

Started getting this error when I upgraded to React 19. Tooltips still work, for now, but who knows when that will change.
