Atom not appearing on Start Menu (or anywhere) on Windows 10 after first install.

Description

Atom not appearing on Start Menu on Windows 10 after first install. Atom.exe does not exist anywhere on my system. The program, however, can be uninstalled through the control panel.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Download and install Atom
2. Acknowledge and close the welcome window
3. Go to start menu and wonder why Atom is not there
4. Go to C:\\users\me\ .atom\ and wonder why atom.exe is not there
5. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\ and wonder why atom.exe is not there
6. Go to Control Panel >> uninstall a program, and wonder why atom.exe is there
7. Restart computer
8. Repeat steps 3 through 7

Expected behavior: Atom in start menu.

Actual behavior: Atom not in start menu.

Reproduces how often: 100%

Versions

atom does not work on command line. Latest version of Atom installed on 15 March 2017.

Additional Information

I'm using a 2 month old laptop with minimal bloatware. The machine seems to be in pretty good shape.
