Connect to Gmail / Calendar doesn't work

Repro: Mac Desktop Select 'Morning Brief' Try to connect to Gmail. I get a message saying '↗Finish connecting Gmail in your browser. Approve it there, then come back — this page updates by itself.'

...but the browser never launches to give me the option to connect, and the connection times out.
