Why a system holds together

Resilience, self-organization, and hierarchy decide whether the system can keep going.

Systems that hold together usually have three capacities. Content engineering does too.

Resilience is keeping the function after a hit. A source dies, a channel pauses, a model stops citing the old structure. The fact base and the evaluation standard are still there, so a new page can be rewritten to the same bar. If every judgment lives inside one prompt, production stops when the prompt changes.

Self-organization is the system growing a stable practice on its own. Gaps that keep showing up in annotation become fields: entity, comparison dimensions, steps, source. You do not need a master plan that invents every field on day one.

Hierarchy separates fast parts from a slow whole. A single article can change daily. Terms, source grades, and what counts as a citable fact should change slowly, or every page redefines the subject. A system such as GEOFlow separates knowledge, checks, review, and distribution so publishing speed does not rewrite the standard.

Look at the current practice. Which rule is so fast that everyone bypasses it, and which is so slow that stale facts get through? Put the slow ones in the standard. Leave the fast ones in the rewrite of a single piece.
